ATRAUMA trial

This trial is set out to investigate the difference in effectiveness between 1) physiotherapy, 2) acromioplasty+physiotherapy and 3) rotator cuff repair+acromioplasty+physiotherapy in the treatment of atraumatic symptomatic supraspinatus tears. We have randomized 180 patients over 55 years of age in one of the three treatment arms. The primary outcome measure is the Constant score. The 5-year results of this trial are published and we are now gathering the 10 year results.

ACCURATE trial

This trial is set out to investigate the difference in efficacy of rotator cuff repair in the treatment of symptomatic supraspinatus tears after trauma. We are currently recruiting patients for the trial and will randomize 180 patients in one of the two treatment arms (placebo surgery or arthroscopic repair). The recruitment is soon complete. The primary outcome measure is WORC, the first results will be available after completion of one-year follow-up of all patients.
